AIR is a unique artistic space suspended between retreat and intervention — a tower cabin set within Gänsehäufel, Vienna’s iconic historic bathing island.
Standing for both Artist in Residence and the playable airspace it inhabits, AIR offers selected artists an extraordinary site for creation, reflection, and spatial expression. Elevated above the everyday, this unique environment invites artists not only to work within the cabin itself, but to activate and transform the surrounding atmosphere as an extension of their practice.
AIR becomes both studio and stage: a temporary refuge, an observatory, and a platform for scenographic experimentation where art unfolds in dialogue with height, light, architecture and the open air.
AIR reimagines residency as an immersive encounter between artistic production and atmospheric space — where ideas circulate, interventions resonate and the air itself becomes part of the work.
